Hello,
I'm Charlie
Fellow Mumma, Registered Nurse and Internationally Certified Infant and Child Sleep Consultant. I'm based in beautiful Busselton, Western Australia but offer online consults to families all around the globe.
Originally from the UK, with my husband from New Zealand, we've faced the trials of parenthood head-on. Navigating the challenges of having babies mostly unsupported, while juggling shiftwork and long days at work; it definitely tested our resilience. I’ve experienced those long exhausting and sometimes lonely nights with young babies and I know how hard it can be.
Despite the hurdles, we strived to stay afloat and love this wild ride of parenthood. My little brood of boys and my nursing background set me on a path towards becoming a sleep consultant. My concept behind Sleepy Little Bears is to be part of your village, I want to share my knowledge so I can set your gorgeous family up for sleeping success and make sure you thrive not just survive the beautiful chaos of family life.

Sleep!
A vital process that allows our mind and body to heal and rest. It’s also integral for our emotional health and mental wellbeing. An essential foundation for your child's growth, health, happiness and their development - it's also completely essential for you!
Being a new parent or expanding your brood can be an amazing time of life but it can also feel very overwhelming when trying to balance the demands of parenting with the fast-paced nature of modern life. Along with juggling physical and emotional changes that come with a new family member, many Mumma’a are doing all this with very little sleep. This is ultimately what puts our villagers at an increased risk of postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety.
So if you're finding yourself with frequent night wakings, wrestling nap times, having regular bedtime battles and your tank is well and truly empty; rest assured I’m the girl for you! Whether you need me to hold your hand through the process or simply cheer from the sidelines, I’m here to educate and empower you so that you have the tools and resources to get your little ones sleep back on track.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is sleep training and what methods do you use?
The goal of sleep training is to teach your sleepy little bear to fall asleep independently on their own without needing to be rocked, fed or soothed to sleep by you. This is known as self-settling, there are several approaches that can be used to achieve this after all one size does not fit all!
I take a holistic approach, so I look at all the different factors that influence your child’s sleep. These can include your child’s sleep environment, their routine/awake windows, how they are feeding, their nutrition and current settling techniques that you may be using. I can then work out an approach that suits your lovely family whether it be a gentle hands on approach or a more structured approach and help you on the journey to better sleep!
How does your program work?
Once we agree to work together and full payment has been received, I will ask you to fill out a detailed intake questionnaire form, this will me give me an insight and understanding of your parenting style and your baby’s temperament. From this information I’ll be able to have an insight into your child’s sleep and any struggles you might be having. We’ll then have a 45 mins - 60 mins phone consultation and we’ll talk in more detail about the sleep issues you are experiencing, I’ll help you have a better understanding to why your little one is sleeping this way and what we need to do to help them sleep better.
I will then create your bespoke sleep plan and identify which settling technique will work best for your child, family and parenting style. Once we have agreed on a start date, you will be ready to roll! Depending on your chosen package it may include daily sleep log reviews and phone call & text support. Please see my Services page for full details.
How long does sleep training take?
Every child and situation is different and unique, so learning a new skill and the time it may take is very much dependent on baby’s age, their temperament, the chosen settling technique and most importantly how consistent a parent is at implementing these changes.
Improvements are usually seen in the first few days of sleep training. Some methods come together quickly within 3-5 days and some take slightly longer 14+ days to consolidate.
It takes a Village......
In this beautiful part of the world we have thriving connections and if you’re looking for support beyond sleep I can help you connect with additional services. Remember,
“It takes a village to raise a child.” ― African Proverb.
An expression that embodies the sprit and importance of community when raising a child. It really is ok to reach out for support xxxx
